Dr. Rakesh Wasson completed his MBBS and MS in Surgery from the Medical College, Amritsar. With a keen interest in surgical sciences, he went on to receive extensive training in Laparoscopic Surgery both in India and abroad. His strong academic foundation and dedication to continuous learning laid the path for a successful career in advanced gastrointestinal and cancer surgery.

Professional Journey

After completing his post-graduation, Dr. Wasson joined the Department of Surgery at PGI, Chandigarh, one of the most prestigious medical institutes in India. He later served as Senior Registrar in the Department of General Surgery at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, where he gained significant clinical and surgical experience.

Over the years, he has worked with renowned surgeons across India and abroad, which has helped him gain deep expertise in managing complicated and complex surgeries across multiple specialties.

Advanced Training and Specialisation

Driven by his passion for advanced laparoscopic techniques, Dr. Wasson completed a Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery (D.MAS) from Germany. He also trained under Dr. Amit Maydeo in Mumbai, one of the pioneers of therapeutic endoscopy, to enhance his skills in gastrointestinal endoscopy.

In addition, he received training in Endourology Surgery under Dr. Anupam Bhargava, a well-known urologist from New Delhi. This comprehensive exposure to various surgical subspecialties has given him a wide and versatile skill set in the field of minimally invasive and complex surgeries.

Since completing his post-graduation in 2005, Dr. Wasson has worked for more than seven years with senior surgeons, perfecting his surgical expertise. He has successfully performed thousands of laparoscopic, cancer, and complex surgeries, making him one of the highly experienced surgeons in his field.
